SCHEDULED PERSONAL PROPERTY ยท GEORGIA

Georgia scheduled personal property insurance for what your homeowners policy sub-limits.

Every homeowners policy has sub-limits on jewelry, firearms, fine art, cameras, musical instruments, collectibles, and silver. Scheduling the piece removes the sub-limit, broadens the perils, and usually drops the deductible to zero. This is how serious items actually get covered.

IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS

What scheduling does not cover

Unappraised items

Carriers require a current appraisal for jewelry, fine art, and most collectibles above a modest threshold. No appraisal, no scheduling. Keep appraisals current within 3 to 5 years.

Wear, tear, and gradual damage

Scheduling does not pay for wear of prongs, tarnish, frame deterioration, or normal aging. Standard exclusion across every carrier.

Items used commercially

Business use of scheduled items (instruments played for income, cameras used in a paid photography practice) usually requires commercial scheduling or inland marine coverage.

Intentional acts and criminal acts

Standard exclusion. Deliberate damage to scheduled items is not covered.
