Commercial Auto Insurance - Georgia Business

Commercial Auto Insurance for Georgia Businesses and Fleets

Your personal auto policy does not cover accidents that happen while you are using your vehicle for business. Any vehicle owned by your business or regularly used for work needs commercial auto coverage.

What Commercial Auto Covers

Liability Coverage

Covers bodily injury and property damage you cause to others while driving for business. Commercial limits are typically higher than personal auto because business vehicles carry more liability exposure.

Physical Damage

Collision covers your vehicle after an accident regardless of fault. Comprehensive covers theft, fire, hail, and vandalism. Both are typically required if your business does not own the vehicles outright.

Hired and Non-Owned Auto

Covers liability when employees drive their personal vehicles or rental vehicles for business purposes. Critical for businesses without company-owned vehicles but with employees who drive for work.

Medical Payments and Uninsured Motorist

Pays medical bills for the driver and passengers in a covered business vehicle regardless of fault. Also includes uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage for accidents caused by drivers without adequate coverage.

What Commercial Auto Does Not Cover

Personal Use

Some commercial policies restrict purely personal use of company vehicles. Review your policy terms if employees take company vehicles home regularly.

Cargo

The cargo you are hauling is not covered under a standard commercial auto policy. Motor truck cargo insurance is a separate policy for businesses transporting goods.

Employee Personal Vehicles

If an employee's personal vehicle is in an accident while on a personal errand, your commercial policy does not respond. Hired and non-owned coverage only applies to business use.

Racing and Off-Road

Commercial auto excludes racing events and off-road use. Specialty coverage is required for these exposures.
